CITY OF FISHERMAN In center of the Mayan Riviera is a small village of fishermen called Playa del Carmen. 52 km North of Cancún, and to a similar distance of the Mayan archaeological zone of Tulum. A romantic place and with a very European lifestyle. People come to this destination from all around the world to relax and enjoy the white beaches and the fresh breeze of the sea. 
Playa del Carmen is located on the Yucatan Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Try scuba diving or snorkeling and discover the exotic world under the sea. Besides the usual beach activities like wakeboarding, surfing, and swimming, there is plenty to do in and around town. Visit the famous eco-archaeological park, Xcaret. Or if you have money to spend, shop on famous 5th avenue and pick up some authentic Mexican arts and crafts to take back home.
